We humans can be extremely innovative and our imagination does run wild at times at least if we want it to. The options in non-body piercing jewelry is many and one can select from an array of rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, charms and necklaces either in solid metal, in dazzling diamonds or glittering gemstones. Jewelry of any kind looks wonderful and adds loveliness to one sporting them and this is the very reason why the allure of jewelry remains forever and is not a fad that is temporary and short lived.

Though body piercing is in fashion but some stars had to go for this for their roles and most recent example for this isRooney Mara. She got her nipple pierced for role. Though some have feel that she went to a really extreme length for part in the movie "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo".

In an interview Mara said that the movie is based on a novel that many have read so in order to play the character she had to do something more than wearing the right clothes for her part of computer-hacker Lisbeth Sander. Describing her getup for the movie, Mara said that because of all the tattoos and makeup and the piercings had physically transformed her body. It would always feel like she was in costume, even if she was without one because of these detailing she added.

This Oscar nominee said that nudity was very integral to the character in the book, so she never thought twice about it. But the star had plenty of her body parts pierced for the role including her ears, her lip and her nose. But that was not all she even had to part with substantial portion of her hair and even bleach her eyebrows.

When asked which piercing hurt the most her answer was surprisingly, ears!!! She said that she did not even have pierced ears and for the role she needed four holes in each ear, and, weirdly, that hurt the most.

Mara is usually known to play docile characters where she has to wear simply jewelry along with frilly girlie dresses. But this character was of a tough-girl. However, she played it well! Oscar nomination confirms the same!! This many people attribute to the fact that her family has famous football roots.

If you don’t know already the actress' great-grandfathers were famous names in the football world. They were New York Giants founder Tim Mara and Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney, Sr. Even in the current generation the Vice President of Player Evaluation for the Giants is her father Timothy Christopher Mara, while her uncle, John Mara, is the current co-owner.

Even her Oscar red carpet appearance was greatly appreciated. She delighted fashion critics as she wore a white gown complete with a daring neckline and dramatic train. Though, she has shown a preference for black dresses on red carpet so the pristine choice was a welcome surprise.

As for her chances on winning the Oscar she was not the favorite to win as there were strong contenders like Viola Davis and Meryl Streep leading the way. However, she certainly got her fair share of attention right now. The actress was recently among the top 5 of an Ask Men "Most Desirable Women" poll, showing how appealing she is to male viewers.

Recently she has said that she has signed on to do the two sequels of this movie, and hopes they will do them. She's admitted she doesn't know when they might film or get released. So, Mara wants to take care of her pierced nipples as she does not want to re-pierce it when she will be doing the other two films.
